What is a word that makes me think about this incredible wedding? Family. They mentioned that they wanted to enjoy the time of coming together with all of the people who loved them and made their day so special and they definitely succeeded. I do not think there was one aspect of their wedding that did not mean something to them or to their family. Tanner had a six pence in her dress, their church getaway car was the EXACT one her parent’s left in from their wedding, and their cake topper has been in her family for generations. Grab the tissues because it was just the sweetest day!

Why did they choose Dahlonega United Methodist Church and Achasta for their wedding?

“Luke’s grandfather who has now passed away helped sponsor the renovations for the sanctuary that we will be getting married in so it is special to us! We chose the reception venue because Achasta is gorgeous!?

“We are using the same vintage wedding car to leave the church that my parents left their wedding in! We are excited about this! We will be getting in the car following a bubble send off at the church, doing a lap in the car around the square, and returning back to the church for more pictures. The cake topper for the wedding cake has also been passed town through my mom’s family for many generations. We will also have a memory table at the church to honor our loved ones who have passed away.”

They wanted to recreate a photo where her parents are leaving and they did the “awkward wave”. I cannot wait to see their image next to the one of her parents!

We had exactly 3 minutes for couple portraits before the rain started! Luckily this sweet couple didn’t mind a few raindrops and we were able to get some stunning images before the monsoon started!

Their cake topper has been in her family for generations. How incredible is that!? Now I’m feeling a little guilty for not knowing where my husband and I’s topper is for Leighton…
