I KNEW these two were going to be so much fun on their wedding day after our crazy sunrise Asheville engagement shoot together! We shared so many moments of uncontrollable laughter and Conner may have gotten a face full of leaves a couple times but the photos were SO worth it!
So fast forward to the week before their big day when I received their questionnaire back. Chelsea added that she was icing her bridesmaids, Chickfila for lunch (a girl after my heart), some super special details, fireworks, and that they were leaving in a epic getaway car! This wedding couldn’t have been any more perfect! Plus, did I mention she got us Chickfila for lunch?
There were so many moments that blew my mind but some of my favorites were their very special details. That pearl ring in the first photo? It was her great-grandmothers! It’s over 200 years old! Oh the places this ring has been and to add their wedding day, melted my heart. The handkerchief on the bouquet was also her great-grandmother’s! She was with Chelsea every step of the way. And the groom’s band? It was his father’s ring from his 10 year anniversary! So much family love and history just in this ONE ring shot. Oh my heart.
How did they pick this incredible venue? They fell in love with Duck Pond Manor for it’s absolute depiction of southern elegance. This venue guys! It was seriously perfection! Also, it’s an all inclusive venue! Chelsea loved that part of Duck Pond Manor. She described it perfectly as “honestly planning was not for me, hence the all inclusive venue, lol. I loved picking out music, dresses, and booze haha”. Reading that made me laugh so hard. She is a dream KB Bride!
What was the inspiration for their wedding? They were very inspired by the nature of the Tennessee Hills in which the venue beautifully sits. They were also inspired by the simplicity of eucalyptus greenery and ivory tones. Nothing too over the top. Simplistic, elegant, southern. They described the main part of planning the wedding as “we want everyone to have a great night!”. And everyone definitely did!
OH! And during the reception the videographer ran up to me and had me look at the sky. I grabbed Chelsea and Conner and we literally RAN THROUGH A FIELD at light speed for 3 minutes of that golden light. I only fell like 5 times. Once in a bush of briars. #worthit. These sunset colors were the same ones we had for their engagement session! Isn’t that so crazy?!
Don’t take my word for it though, check out these incredible images from their stunning big day!
Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. McCroskey! There’s no one I would rather run through a briar field with! <3
Warmly,
Kaitlyn
